Have my husband fly crate and it has been such a terrific gift. He loves it
I purchased the "THIN" leaders in search of a more sensitive alternative to the mass produced leaders available on the market. These are ULTRA-sensitive, use premium components and the knots are expert-ly tied. They are also easily cast-able but dont have the "sag" found in heavier leaders which can cause slack that is a killer for tight line nymphing. Well suited for beginners as well as experienced nymphers. I also appreciate the longer length which allows me to customize based on river conditions. The sighter is easy to see even low light conditions and the bright orange tag is especially helpful in faster water when timing is most important. These are my go-to leaders going forward. Great job THE FLY CRATE!
Review from Akron, OH
I purchased this subscription box earlier this year, and my husband and I both look forward to receiving it every few months! Along with the awesome set of flies and descriptions for each, our last box included a handy how-to guide for knot tying. My husband gave the knot tying pamphlet to his buddy that was just starting out with fly fishing, and he told me as much as he's glad it will be put to good use, it's the one thing he wish that he had kept around.
He was thrilled to open this month's box to find the how-to knot guide included. Our favorite part of the box (aside from the great assortment of high-quality flies of course) are the awesome stickers. We add them to our fishing boat as soon as we receive the box. Major props to the marketing/product team at the Fly Crate, you guys are killing it!
Beautiful detail on the fly and hold up very well after lots of fish
I have been using this fly either as the dropper or point fly for awhile now and it consistently produces fish like this big brown caught the other day. Great fly with consistent success
Using the Newbury Dirty Hipster with Rainbow Warrior or Tungsten Jig American on the point works like a champ every time I go out for wild browns and rainbows. Thanks.
Great looking nymphs. Can’t wait to use. Very good customer service and quick shipping
I ordered a few of these and they took a little getting used to throwing on a 5wt rod but they work great stripping. They catch the river smallmouth I was targeting in Ohio.
The tie is nothing fancy, but these nymphs flat out catch fish. I’ve caught my PB on this fly and countless other trout. If I had to pick one fly for the rest of my life it would be this
I can’t give enough positive feedback on The Fly Crate’s bead headed wooly buggers. I live in Northeast Ohio and these have caught stocked rainbow trout mid-winter in creeks, big smallmouth bass along the Cuyahoga River, largemouth bass in ponds/ lakes, and panfish from all of the above. Black and olive are fantastic but the white caught my biggest smallmouth river fish. Worth the price!
I have recently found the Fly Crate on line by accident when looking for wooly buggers . I placed an order with them and to my surprise i had my order within 2 days.Didnt get to try them yet but they look very professionaly tied. I give this site a very high thumbs up and will definately order from The Fly Crate again.
Great selection. Easy one line item to get a great mix. Good quality. I’m catching fish with them!
